It's Okay to Take a Break

I got to take a vacation a few weeks ago, and I looking back now, I can clearly see that I needed it. I didn't have some profound experience while I was away, I just really needed a break. Before leaving for Lisbon, I was feeling burnt out and a bit in over my head, so the timing of the vacation was pretty much perfect. 

Being an entrepreneur can feel isolating at times, and I hadn't realized how time with my friends is beneficial to me. I struggle with allowing myself to have free time because I felt guilty about it. I have to remind myself that there is no reason to feel this way. That things are taken care of and that I am deserving of my time.

On the last day of my vacation I was a bit afraid of feeling the burnout once I got home. I am happy to find that I actually feel SO GOOD. I am happy to be back at work helping my clients, connecting with other entrepreneurs, and really focusing on the direction I want to take my business.

My lesson here was to see that a break is a good thing, and definitely something I shouldn't feel guilty about. I'm sure these moments will come again, and it will take some practice to remember to check in with myself but doing small things for myself makes me and my business better.
