I've Got The Cocktails
I can't cook so to contribute to this year's Thanksgiving feast, I decided to make cocktails. I wanted to make something simple, different and something that kinda, sorta means something to our family. The first thing that popped into my head was cognac. My grandpa is a huge fan, and always opens up a few bottles from his collection to sneak to us grand kids. It's harsh ;). So I found a recipe here that I thought we would all enjoy. You will need cognac, champagne, simple syrup, and fresh lemon juice.
Combine 1 1/2 oz. of cognac, 3/4 oz. lemon juice, 3/4 oz. simple syrup in a mixing cup. Fill the cup 3/4 with ice cubes.
Shake vigorously for 15 seconds. Fill the champagne flute about 1/3 with the cognac mix.
Top with champagne and enjoy! We were all delightfully surprised at how well cognac and champagne went together. It was refreshing but still had that slight burn to warm you up a bit.
Also, this year what is happening at Standing Rock continues to weigh heavily in my mind. Click this link to see how you can help: http://standwithstandingrock.net/donate/
